Just a few of the tones The Dancing Plague can achieve:
-Lush, “deconstructed” reverb with hypnotizingly slow ping-pong tremolo
-Clean digital delay with ethereal 80s chorus
-Lo-fi tape delay with tape warbles only when you want them
-disturbingly bit-crushed 10-second ping-pong tri-delay with vibrato
-Delay with expanding, pitch-shifted repeats like a booming orchestra
-The 2nd Top Secret program’s delay which I can’t even explain... You just have to hear it.
The list truly goes on & on...
Two unique features in The Dancing Plague are our TouchSwirl Modulation & Divergent Delay Time. TouchSwirl modulation is linked to the input signal, so it organically blooms & dissipates with your playing. It also comes in 2 flavors throughout the 8 programs--chorus or vibrato, & different levels of depth too. Our Divergent Delay Time, available in 4 of the 8 programs, is essentially a triple-tap delay but each delay tap changes in divergent, unsynced ways when moving the Time slider. This allows you to discover thousands of different rhythms or poly-rhythms, making experimenting on this classified creation far more creative & exciting.
The clock control might be the most oddly satisfying aspect of the Oddity Series. You can vary the clock all the way down to 3kHz. This means every part of the effect (delay time, tremolo time, modulation) gets slowed down like a vinyl record player being sat on. This allows you to dial in exactly how lo-fi you want it--either slight cassette tape vibes or total bit-crushed destruction. The Clock Octave mode then allows the clock to be altered only in perfect octaves, so changing the clock then creates pitch-shifted delay repeats. Two more clock modes including time divisions & even automatic random octave jumping with speed control & choice of how many octaves. As if that wasn’t enough, you can also record in up to 10-seconds of clock knob motion that will then playback automatically, opening up even more endless possibilities for clock madness. Don’t forget to try controlling the clock with an expression pedal like our Luma Express or StompExpress! (Or any other expression pedal). This makes the Clock Octave mode a lot more fun since you can create ever-evolving octaves just by moving the expression pedal.
The Oddity Series also includes three different bypass modes! With or without trails, as well as the Top Secret 3rd mode that allows you to bypass the effect without changing your dry signal’s volume. This lets you create oscillation or lo-fi repeats then play over them without a sudden jump in volume.
I could go on for another 10 paragraphs about all the sonic possibilities in this odd little metal box, but sometimes uncovering the hidden mysteries that lie beneath your feet is where the real magic begins!
